Another AMAZING weekend!!

Another great weekend just went by and we had a lot of fun around the docks. It was a hot Saturday and it started off with a dingy rendezvous at the Dam beach…only to be interrupted by the ever popular dingy poker run (or better known as the…adult water gun fight with a few stops to get poker cards). “Waz” was the winner of $100.00 on a full house with Nate Reid in 2nd place for $50.00 and Kurt Hubble in 3rd for $50.00 Thank you to Amy Krug for once again putting on a great event!!!

After all the squirt guns and water cannons, we ended up back at the Dam beach for another dingy rendezvous, the most I think I have ever seen at the beach at 1 time. It was a lot of fun being with all the great boaters and members of the club enjoying the weather and water.

Although we had to depart the beach a little early, it was for good reason; The brat/dog and corn roast was on tap. Thank you to all the ERYC officers who made it happen and Joel Christensen for donating the corn, it was REALLY good!

The event was well attended and the door prizes were abundant, thanks to all that donated. I am still unsure as to whether the “pump out” certificates were the most coveted or the Gill-Roy’s gift cards? Either way, they were all appreciated. Tony Krug won the 50/50 prize of $170.00, I haven’t heard the date he is buying for all of us at the Town Club just yet...stay tuned(?)

Lastly, we presented the Cheryl Werth Dock Attendant Scholarship Award. This year’s recipient was Ethan Pike. Ethan is a Junior at Cornerstone University and is playing soccer for their team. Although he couldn’t be present Saturday due to a game in Ohio, you will be glad to know his team won 5-0!! Here is a bio on Ethan: https://cugoldeneagles.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/ethan-pike/7267

Mike Singleton said, “Ethan is one of the hardest working attendants we had this year. It was a unanimous decision to select him as this year’s recipient.” $1,000.00 will be sent to his scholarship account at Cornerstone. Thank you once again to Cheryl Werth for her matching donation of $500.00 which is added to the ERYC $500.00 annual donation. This is a great cause and the yacht club looks forward to awarding this every year.

It’s almost Labor Day, and the weather is looking GREAT for the next couple weeks. Hopefully you can get out and enjoy your vessels as the season is winding down. September 11th will be our next event along with the Annual meeting and selection of Officers for the 2022 season. Please join us if you can.

Until then, HAPPY BOATING!!
